Year 5 and 6 pupils invited members of our local community into the school for our annual Harvest Tea which took place on Thursday 2nd October. The boys and girls baked cakes, prepared drinks and chatted about school life at Hankham School with our visitors. Our younger children in EYFS and KS1 performed a special song to the guests.
On Friday 3rd October we held our annual Harvest Assembly and invited local farmers to celebrate with us. One of the farmers gave us a very informative talk about harvest time on his farm. For one of the songs the children had learned the words in deaf sign language and were able to show our guests.
Street Dance Assembly
The children were treated to a street dance performance in assembly in late September. The dancers also spoke to the boys and girls about the hard work and practice involved in learning to street dance to a good standard. They also stressed the importance of a positive attitude and perseverance, not just for street dancing, but all activities they might choose to undertake.
