In their feedback, the assessors particularly praised Hankham's use of pupil voice, our strong values and ethos, our arts collaborations with external  providers (including the CPD element) and the fact that we work strategically to gain funding to support the arts. They also praised our international work and how this provides "a valuable exploration of diversity and culture". In their feedback they wrote, " You have succeeded in overcoming barriers to access and engagement for some of your disadvantaged pupils."

In September 2025 Hankham was delighted to be reaccredited with the full International School Award. The accomplishment recognises the entire school's dedication to integrating a diverse and imaginitive array of international initiatives.

Hankham Primary School earned the prestigious East Sussex Healthy School Excellence award in February 2024. This outstanding achievement highlights the school's deep commitment to the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of its entire community . By successfully embedding comprehensive health and wellbeing practices into daily school life, the dedicated staff and enthusiastic pupils have created a nurturing environment where children can truly thrive. This well-deserved recognition sets an inspiring standard for educational excellence and holistic care within East Sussex. As only 27 schools in East Sussex hold the excellence award, we are really proud to be one of them.
