Hankham Primary School has a trained PIC (Parent Information Contact). PICs are part of an East Sussex County Council initiative to help families access services and support. Ms Newman (pictured) has completed the PIC training and is part of a network of information champions. She can help families access information about activities, support and services in the community. Ms Newman also regularly updates our PIP (Parent Information Point), the noticeboard in the small playground outside the reception area, with useful information for parents, carers and families. She also regularly sends useful information via School Ping.
Ms Newman can signpost families and carers to our Local Information Service which provides information on local childcare services. For your information, we gauge the demand across the school for out-of-hours childcare twice a year. With sufficient interest the school would move to the next stage of the process and discuss the financial sustainability with a childcare provider. Please register interest in writing, stating type of childcare requested, number and age range of children and when provision is most needed. The school deadline for each review window will be the end of Term 1 and Term 4.
